Business Visa

This visa is intended for applicants travelling to visit Spain for the purpose of business visit. This visa does not allow the visa holder to work in Spain apart from the purpose stated at the time of application.

Only legal residents of Bahrain who has valid Bahrain residency that covers the entire duration of the trip (‘til the date of return) can apply at the Visa Application Center.

Diplomatic Passport Holders – does not require visa to enter Spain only. If travelling to other Schengen destination, please check your visa requirement from corresponding Embassy.

For Lithuania visa, applicants are requested to send an Email to Embassy of Spain, Bahrain at emb.kuwait.vis@maec.es before Bookings and Appointment.

Those who want to travel to Portugal need authorization from Embassy of Portugal in Abu Dhabi before applying visa.

Refugee Passport and any other Special case Passport Applicant are requested to send an Email to Embassy of Spain, Bahrain at emb.kuwait.vis@maec.es before Bookings and Appointment.

The Embassy reserves the right to call on applicants for interview if further details or documents are required.

Visa applicants must submit their application in person and enroll their biometric (fingerprints) at the time of submission.

Only applicants travelling within the next 6 months (180 days) can submit their application.This period is extended to 9 months in the case of seamen.

For those applicants, regardless the type of residence (still the sticker in the passport or Civil ID) whose residence expires in less than three months after their return from the trip, are requested to provide us with a certificate issued by PACI (Public Authority for Civil Information).

Incomplete, unclear or unsigned applications will not be accepted; and the visa application can only be processed upon receipt of ALL documents required by the Embassy (see List of required documents).

Visa fees are non-refundable and have to be paid only in cash at the time of submission.

If the visit involves two or more Schengen countries, the Embassy responsible for the issuance of the visa will be:

Countries with a visa facilitation agreement with the European Union and children between the ages of 6-12 years. The Schengen visa fee amounts to 38.00 USD for national of Albania, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fyrom, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Ukraine. Ukraine nationals who are holding bio metric passports do not need Schengen visa.

  • EU Agreement with Cabo Verde the Visa fee for 18 years old and above is 60.00 USD, 12-18 years old is 30.00 USD and for below 12 years old will be Gratis.
  • The Visa fees can be paid by Cash only and subject to change.VAT is not applicable on visa fee. We accept visa fees in US Dollars only.
  • All fees are non-refundable.

Please read the below requirements carefully and ensure that you have the complete documents upon submission, to avoid inconveniences:

  • Original duly completed and signed application form.
    • (No.37, Applicable in case of multiple-entry box, and declaration must be signed)
  • Original passport and a copy of your passport bio-page (must be at least 6 months valid from the date of travel).
    • Bahrain residence permit (for non-GCC nationals) must be valid at least minimum 3 months from the date of return and passport must contain 2 consecutive empty pages.
  • 1 recent passport size photograph (white background) – ICAO compliant
    • Not older than 6 months.
  • Original or copy of Travel Insurance.
    • Covering the territory of the Member states of the Schengen agreement and with minimum coverage of EUR30, 000 for medical expenses.
  • Confirmed flight reservations (with either booking reference or ticket number).
  • Proof of accommodation Confirmed hotel reservations
  • A copy of your civil ID in Bahrain.
  • For Non Bahrainis :
    • Updated and recent salary certificate with name and designation of signatory.
    • Original up-to-date 6 months bank statement (if printed online, must be stamped by issuing bank).

Note: We regret we cannot accept photographs that do not meet these requirements

Please provide one recent photograph (not more than 6 months old) of yourself, which should not have been used previously in the passport. The photograph should be in colour and:

  • Taken against white background so that features are distinguishable and contrast against the background.
  • Clear share quality and with the face in focus.
  • Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
  • Full face, non-smiling [without sunglasses, a hat/cap or other head covering, unless the applicant wears such items because of their religious belief or ethnic background]
  • Please stick the Photograph on the Visa Application Form.

Note: Please follow these instructions carefully. If photographs presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete. A photo booth meeting these requirements is available at the centre.

Under normal circumstances, the processing of applications can take up to 15 days to 45 days.

The above period does not guarantee that applications will be processed within that certain duration; the period may be extended up to a maximum of 60 calendar days in individual cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is needed or in cases of representation where the authorities of the represented Member state are consulted.

When additional documentation is needed in specific cases, the period may be extended up to a maximum of 60 calendar days.
